Die Band aus Alaska mit dem ungewöhnlichen Namen ist äußerst produktiv. Ihr letztes Studioalbum “The Satanic Satanist” erschient erst im Juli letzten Jahres, begleitet von “The Majestic Majesty”, einer akustischen Variante derselben Songs. Und jetzt folgt bereits das nächste Werk mit dem Titel “American Ghettos”. Betrachtet man den Entstehungsprozess, so klingt der kurze Abstand zwischen den Alben durchaus plausibel: “The whole process of the American Ghetto recordings was basically a two week explosion of ideas followed by about 4 months of clean-up and focusing. This gave the songs space and time to breathe a bit before finding their true home in the album and in the finished piece.”
Die Band hat sich außerdem dazu entschlossen (genau wie seinerzeit die Raconteurs) den klassischen VÖ-Zyklus links liegen zu lassen. Das heißt im Klartext: kein Pressevertreter, kein Blogger, keine Radiostation wird das Album vor den Fans in den Händen halten.
