Portishead: Video zur ABBA-Coverversion S.O.S.

Für den Science-Fiction-Film High Rise von Ben Wheatley (Interview bei Nerdcore) haben Portishead den ABBA-Song S.O.S neu eingespielt.

Dieser Song macht schon seit ein paar Wochen die Runden. Jetzt hat die Band ein minimalistisches Video zu S.O.S. veröffentlicht.

Das Video endet mit dem Zitat “We have far more in common, than which divide us.” Es stammt von der ermordeten britischen Politikerin und Brexit-Gegnerin Jo Cox, die gestern, einen Tag vor der Abstimmung, 42 Jahre alt geworden wäre.

Das Zitat, die Geste am Ende und der Text des Songs: ein klares Statement gegen den Brexit.
