Son Lux ist die Band des in Los Angeles lebenden Sängers und Multiinstrumentalisten Ryan Lott und der beiden New Yorker Rafiq Bhatia (Gitarre) und Ian Chang (Schlagzeug).
Ihr fünftes Album Brighter Wounds erschien bereits im Februar. Ein vertracktes, aber dennoch mitreißendes Album voller kleiner Hymnen.
Zu einer dieser Hymnen gibt es jetzt ein Video von Regisseur Jean-Paul Frenay. Er entwickelte sofort eine persönliche Verbindung zu dem Track:
“Ryan’s lyrics are always very poetic and open to interpretation so I went with what it evoked to me. The song could be interpreted as a strange submissive love song but I found a deeper sub-layer in it about the general struggle of life and what it means to go through it. I based the video on the circle of life and death.”
