Mutual Benefit – Strong Swimmer (Yours Truly)

Mutual Benefit aka Jordan Lee hat mit “Love’s Crushing Diamond” das schönste (Mini-) Album des Jahres 2013 veröffentlicht. Ja, ich schreibe ganz bewusst “das schönste”. Denn es fallen mir zu dieser Musik zwar andere Adjektive ein (erhaben etwa oder grazil), aber schön bringt es einfach auf den Punkt. Vielleicht kann man dieses schön noch mit unbeschreiblich ergänzen. Für eine Session von Yours Truly spielt er den Song “Strong Swimmer”.

We shot “Strong Swimmer” on a Sunday night in Bed-Stuy, at the apartment where Cory (who sings with Jordan in the video) and Marc (bass) live. The room where we filmed is currently a makeshift bedroom for Jordan; he put away his mattress to make space for the band to play that night. Their place was really inviting, with lots of quirky decorations and art, including Cory’s (she designed Mutual Benefit’s album cover). Even though you can tell this song is pretty heavy for Jordan, he had everyone giggling between takes. (via)
