Maxïmo Park – Baby, Sleep

Eine meiner Lieblingsbands aus den frühen Tagen dieses Blogs ist Maximo Park. Ich habe ihre Anfangszeit euphorisch begleitet und mich im Laufe der Zeit immer wieder mit Interesse ihren Platten gewidmet.

Die Euphorie ist inzwischen zwar verflogen, aber ich bin über jeden neuen Song höchst erfreut. Inzwischen sind Maximo Park nur noch zu dritt unterwegs:  Duncan Lloyd, Paul Smith und Tom English.

Hier ist die zweite Single aus dem kommenden Album Nature Always Wins, welches im Februar 2021 erscheint.

“I’m so happy we were able to make this album during lockdown, as it’s been a challenging time for everyone. After almost four years since Risk To Exist, we wanted to explore new musical territory (for us) without sacrificing our trademark melodic twists and heartfelt lyrics. As always, the passing of time looms large, although the songs contain more affection for the past than before, and there are occasional hints of the fractious, divided time that we live in.”
