Eine meiner Lieblingsbands der letzten Jahre ist Okkervil River. Zwar hat mich ihr letztes Album “The Stand Ins” nicht so überzeugt wie der direkte Vorgänger, aber das tut meiner Begeisterung keinen Abbruch. Deswegen freue ich mich natürlich über solche Interviews.
Okkervil River convened for their annual State of the Band Board Meeting (not really) and Pitchfork’s Jessica Suarez was there. In the first half of this two-parter, Will Sheff and company talk about authenticity, Daniel Johnston, and an endless jam with Roky Erickson on “I Walked With a Zombie” that sounds like a career highlight for everyone involved.
