Vor etwas über einem Jahr stellte ich dir hier bereits die Band Zola Blood vor. Viel wusste ich nicht über sie, aber ihren Song “Grace” fand ich klasse.
Auch ihr aktueller Song “Pieces Of The Day” kann mich überzeugen. Zusammen mit dem Song “Play Out” erscheint er demnächst auf einer Doppel-A-Seiten-Single. Ich persönlich finde “Pieces Of The Day” wesentlich besser, wobei “Play Out” natürlich auch seine Qualitäten hat. Zola Blood arbeiten übrigens gerade an ihrem Debütalbum, deren Finanzierung sie zum Teil über PledgeMusic realisiert haben.
Pieces of The Day continues to explore the dense electronic sounds that Zola Blood displayed on previous single, ‘Play Out’. Recorded between London and Leeds with veteran producer Richard Formby (Wild Beasts, Ghostpoet, Darkstar), the song tells a story of an evening spent on London’s number 8 night bus, all rumbling synths and hazy vocals that give way to a lush chorus pleading us to go home.
