Elke? Nein, das spricht man ganz und gar nicht wie den deutschen Vornam aus, sondern el-key. Wer sich so etwas ausdenkt? Nun, keine Elke, sondern Kayla Graninger.
Die junge Musikerin ist in unterschiedlichen Städten in den USA aufgewachsen und ihre Kindheit wurde von den Top 40, Classic Rock und Doo-Wop geprägt. Daraus formte sie ihren ganz eigenen Sound, den wir uns bald auf ihrer Debüt-EP Bad Metaphors anhören können.
Die EP erscheint am 20. April und wird drei Stücke beinhalten. Hier ist der fantastische Opener Without The I.
Über ihre männlich klingende Stimme sagt Kayla:
I really have owned the fact that I kind of sound like a man. I didn’t do that for a really long time. Now I have this and I can be really loud, and the songs are super emotion-filled with the way that I sing. That’s what I hold closest.
